Perfilm is an independent production company based in Prague, Czech Republic, founded in 2018 by producer Tomáš Pertold. Dedicated to creating films with strong artistic value and international appeal, Perfilm focuses on both fiction and documentary projects. The company supports visionary filmmakers in crafting outstanding audiovisual works that offer fresh and unique perspectives to both local and global audiences. Through refined collaborations with exceptional talent, Perfilm enriches the industry with original short and feature films that stand out for their creativity and depth.
Perfilm's feature debut, March to May, directed by Martin Pavol Repka, premiered at the 58th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (Proxima official competition) and was honoured with a Special Jury Mention. The film also won the Czech Film Critics Award for Discovery of the Year and was nominated for the Czech Lion Awards in the Best Film and Best Director categories.
Since its inception, Perfilm has produced also several notable short films, including Eighth Day by Petr Pylypčuk, which premiered at the Festival de Cannes - La Cinef, or Paradise on Earth to See by Vojtěch Novotný, which screened at esteemed festivals such as Premiers Plans FF, PÖFF Shorts, and Trieste FF.
Currently, Perfilm is developing several fiction feature debuts, including God Break Down the Door by Vojtěch Novotný, which participated in the Midpoint Feature Launch 2023 and Thessaloniki Agora Co-production Forum; In Good Faith by Anna Wowra, featured in the Les Arcs Talent Village 2023 and Midpoint Feature Launch 2025; and Eli and Them by Petr Pylypčuk, which participated in the Midpoint Feature Launch 2024 and Connecting Cottbus 2024.
Perfilm’s founder Tomáš Pertold is a graduate of prestigious programs - Midpoint Feature Launch, Rotterdam Lab or ACE Training Days.
