Eighth Day is a short narrative film about growing up, set against a backdrop of a strict religious community. Teenagers Anna and Josef decide to run away from their families when the whole religious sect congregates by a lake in a forest. As they wander through the woods, they begin to experience freedom for the first time, but they also gradually discover how ill-prepared they are for an existence beyond the closed and guarded community in which they have spent their entire lives.
